Custom Website Registration and Event Data

We recently aided 127 Creative on a website that needed custom form functionality. The Keystone Nationals take place every year in Pennsylvania and they were looking to automate much of their registration and data entry process.

Not only was there a need for registration, payment and waitlists but this same data also needed to be populated across a live stream for the event. We built a custom form to allow tractor pullers the ability to register, upload a photo of their truck and view their random id number which would later generate a pull order. Each class registration had different capacity limitations as well as engine and class categories.

After creating the registration work flow we then used the registered puller data to populate driver pages, pull order lists and lower thirds for the live stream. When logged in judges at the event could enter pull distances, scratches and disqualifications. After the initial pull a finals order was created using the top pullers from each class. All of this was coded behind the scenes to make the event run smoothly with minimal manually data entry. We’re super happy with the results and wish all of the drivers the best of luck.

Introducing the Westminster Collective

Introducing the Westminster Collective, a hyperlocal database for local photographers and videographers. Started by GLBAL media, the Westminster Collective includes wedding photographers, portrait photographers, commercial videographers, drone operators and much more. All of the creatives live or work within 25 miles of downtown Westminster and have at least 2 years of professional experience. This means that when someone in Westminster or Taneytown searches for a photographer for a family session they’re only seeing local results. You no longer have to compete with all of the other listings on Google for competitive ranking.

Members of the Westminster Collective gain access to discounted studio rates, a listing on the database, access to a private Facebook group, monthly meetups and other various apparel items.

Monthly Meetup for Photographers and Videographers

This group also offers free monthly meetups to discuss current trends, strategies and challenges in the photo and video industry. These meetups are hosted at GLBAL media’s studio in Westminster, MD and feature craft coffee, presentations from peers in the industry and conversations with other business owners from the local community. Learn more about the meetups here: https://www.facebook.com/westminstercollective/events.

GLBAL media Announces Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration

Westminster locals open new location in downtown Westminster, MD

Westminster, MD: GLBAL media is excited to announce the opening of a new office and photo studio in downtown Westminster, MD. Located at 47 E Main Street, this event will feature tours of the building, a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and a check presentation for February’s Hey, Westminster! Grant recipient. Each month, GLBAL media provides videos for Hey, Westminster! to promote local startups and entrepreneurs in the area.

Serving Grammy award winning artists, White House officials and some of the largest nonprofits in the world, GLBAL media is an award winning creative agency that was started by Justin Willet. With extensive experience as a humanitarian photographer, documentary filmmaker and designer, Justin has traveled to over 20 different countries. This worldview brings a unique perspective to a local business.

GLBAL media office

Over the past 3 years GLBAL media has made a significant impact in the local community by providing photos for the City of Westminster’s downtown events, designing websites for local businesses and nonprofits, sponsoring events and producing videos for both local and international organizations.

When asked about opening a physical location Justin commented “Our team was born and raised in Westminster and we felt it was important to give back to our community. Having travelled all over the world we choose to call Westminster home and are proud to put down stakes here. While we will continue to serve our international clients we’re excited about offering more in person services like portraits and local event coverage for the community. We hope this location can serve as an inspiration for local creativity.”

Westminster Collective

Alongside the Grand Opening, GLBAL media has launched a new initiative for local photographers and videographers called the Westminster Collective. This group meets monthly to discuss current trends, strategies and challenges in the photo and video industry. The corresponding website westminstercollective.com serves as a database for Westminster residents to search and find a local photographer or videographer. All creatives that are listed must live within 25 miles of Westminster and have at least 2 years of experience. “Our goal is to create a hyperlocal database where you can easily find a photographer or videographer for your event – without having to comb through nationwide databases. We really hope to help younger professionals get more bookings who might not rank independently on search engines yet” says Justin.

2023 year in review

2023 year in review

International Trips

2023 was an exciting year at GLBAL media and we are so thankful for every person, company and nonprofit that trusted us with their creative needs. This year we saw the return of international trips and were able to travel to 4 different countries for the first time since January of 2020. Working alongside our partners at ChildFund we shared stories of hope and change as well as the struggles of drought, famine and exploitation.

New Team Members

Grace Carr
2023 also saw the addition of Grace Carr as a full time photographer/designer for our team. Quickly jumping on the Lauren Daigle fall tour with Justin where we saw over 10,000 children sponsored – many of which we spent time with in Kenya and Guatemala. As a team we visited 39 states and were on the road for over 200 days this year clocking in 85 flights.

Short Form Documentaries

Back to the field documentary
Over a year ago we made a commitment as a company to focus on longer form videos and start producing documentaries. I’m excited to share that in 2023 we were a part of not 1 but 3 different documentaries. We hope you can join us on January 2nd for a special premiere of “Back to the Field.”

Video Production

We are so thankful for the huge increase in video related projects. Growing from 95 video projects in 2022 to 243 in 2023! We’ve invested heavily in upgrading equipment to cinema quality cameras and lighting and refining our filming and editing workflow to insure a smooth process for our clients. We have renewed our commitment to Hey Westminster and for the 4th year will continue sharing the stories of local recipients who are making Westminster awesome!

GLBAL good

This leads to my favorite thing we do every year, the GLBAL good. Each year as a company we designate a percentage of our profit to fund various projects/causes that we believe align with our vision to bring the world together, and share those success stories with you. This year we expanded on this concept and added a documentary and reception to help champion the work being done in Rwanda.

Live Streaming

For the 8th year we were able to provide live streaming for the SDA and CSA squash tournaments and look forward to branching out to new racquet sports in 2024.

Looking ahead to 2024

GLBAL media ribbon cutting ceremony

New office / studio location

We have several exciting updates for 2024! For over 2 years we’ve been looking for the right location to call home. We’ve met with real estate developers, contractors and landlords in search of a space that could serve as both a studio and office. We were committed to staying in Westminster but this was no easy task. In order to meet our checklist we needed natural light, open space and high ceilings. It’s been a rollercoaster as we’ve signed leases, had developers back out of deals, moved into locations only to find out it wasn’t properly permitted, etc.

We’re excited to share that on February 15th we’ll be having a ribbon cutting ceremony and giving tours of the new office and studio space located in the heart of downtown Westminster. The best part? We want this to be a location that serves the community and other creatives. If you’re a local photographer / videographer let’s connect soon.

In addition, this location will also feature a custom built photo/video studio to allow for professional studio portraits and in house video creation. Located in downtown Westminster this space will become a local hub for creative projects. We look forward to sharing more updates soon but for now just know that this will be a huge addition to the local community. We have several ideas and new initiatives to help improve the creative community in our hometown.

Why we’re quitting social media

As 2023 comes to a close we have also made the decision to discontinue social media management services. This decision was not something we take lightly and have already made the necessary transitions for our existing clients. We believe social media can be a powerful tool for businesses but have found best practices when conducted internally. Feel free to read a more lengthy review about this decision here: “Why we’re quitting social media“.

In conclusion

GLBAL media truly lived up to its name in 2023, with projects spanning several continents. This small company from Westminster has truly grown into an agency capable of sharing stories from around the world and being a part of thousands of lives changed. We hope you will partner with us in 2024 for your next project.

Why we’re quitting social media

Quitting social media

Okay so the title might be a little click bait, but please continue to read as we explain why we’re no longer offering social media services. We will continue to post on our own accounts to keep you aware of upcoming projects, events and updates.

As of January 2024 GLBAL media will no longer be offering social media services to our clients. We believe social media can play an important role in society, for businesses and for reaching a new audience. However,  we’ve found that the most effective strategies are handled internally. In order to reach a frequency of posting that is necessary to grow online it requires active participation from the brand. Without direct access to day to day activities there are very few clients we can serve remotely.

livestream to facebook instagram youtube

This decision was not made lightly, over the past 10 years we’ve had the opportunity to manage accounts with over a million followers and be a part of campaigns that reached over 100,000 viewers. Our experience in this area is ultimately what lead us to wanting to provide our clients with the best options when it comes to social media content.

Although we’ll no longer be offering posting services, scheduling or day to day management we are excited to introduce 3 new content creation plans. These plans were created with small businesses in mind to provide a variety of photos and videos for you use throughout the year. Starting at annual plans all the way to monthly options we look forward to partnering with you for your next project. Contact us today to learn more about these options.

In addition, we will continue to facilitate social media ads as we have found these can still prove to be effective when accompanied by good media, copywriting and targeting.

If you’re actively looking for someone to manage your social media for you were happy to connect you with some dear friends who still work in this space.

Back to the Field Documentary

GLBAL media presents Back to the Field. A documentary about restoring dignity to farming in the land of a thousand hills. Produced and directed by Justin Willet and edited by Caelan Gregory, this story follows the work of the Vonherbulis family as they live and work alongside farmers in Rwanda. Practicing regenerative agriculture for nutritional, economic, environmental, and spiritual growth in their communities.

Back to the Field Documentary Premiere

Please join us on January 2, 2024 at 7pm for a documentary premiere and fundraising event.

Each year GLBAL media designates a percentage of our profit to fund various projects/causes that we believe align with the vision to bring the world together, and share those success stories with you – we call it the “GLBAL good“. This year we’ve made a donation to the Vonherbulis family who currently live in Rwanda. In November of 2023 documentary filmmaker, Justin Willet, traveled to Rwanda to learn more about how Sowers of Hope was inspiring local farmers to take pride in their work and understand the valuable role the land plays in nutrition.

GLBAL good Reception

We’re excited to invite you to our first GLBAL good reception where we will premiere a short documentary about the work the Vonherbulis family is doing in Rwanda. Matt and Karli will be visiting from Rwanda to share more about their work and answer questions. Tickets are free but registration is required. The first 75 tickets will receive a free drink coupon for beer or wine from the bar. Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase. Visit www.backtothefield.com to learn more.

Kite Technology Website Design

Kite Technology Group Website Design

Website Redesign for Maryland IT Company – Kite Technology Group

GLBAL media designed the new website for KiteTech Group located in Owings Mills, MD to bring a fresh look to the company who has been in business for over 30 years. We managed KiteTech’s website for the past couple of years and it was becoming more and more evident that it was time for a redesign. The old site featured block images and was inconsistent from page to page.

Maryland Website Design

This website redesign was no easy task as this site has nearly 100 pages and over 200 blogs/webinars.  We worked through our 10 step website design process and started by creating digital mockups of all of the pages. This allowed us creative freedom as we designed custom graphical elements and unique shapes for the primary images. The client wanted a clean design that featured their new brand colors and color coded pages for each major service they provide.
KiteTech Website design
After building a staging site for testing we then facilitated the transfer to their primary domain and launched the new website for the public. We may be bias but we feel this is one of the best IT website designs on the internet. Check out the brand new site here: https://www.kitetechgroup.com/

Super Bowl Champion O.J. Brigance Website Design

O.J. Brigance Website Design

Nonprofit Website Redesign for NFL player O.J. Brigance

It’s not every day that we get to work with a Super Bowl Champion from our home state, especially for a cause that’s so important. After concluding 12 years on the field, O.J. Brigance currently serves as the Senior Adviser of Player Development for the Baltimore Ravens.

A couple of months ago GLBAL media was contacted by the Brigance Brigade to redesign their foundation website which exists to provide resources for people living with ALS.

“Following his diagnosis of ALS in 2007, former NFL champion and current Baltimore Ravens executive O.J. Brigance and his wife, Chanda created the Brigance Brigade Foundation to equip, encourage, and empower people living with ALS. Fast forward 15 years, the Brigance Brigade has helped hundreds of families and built a tight-knit community throughout the mid-Atlantic region and beyond.”

Check out this video that recently aired on the NFL Network

Nonprofit Website Design

Specializing in nonprofit website design we first consulted with the Brigance Brigade to learn more about the organization and the main objectives for the website. The existing website was slowly getting outdated and was previously built on Squarespace. The staff at the Brigance Brigade faced a lot of limitations when it came to posting events, sharing stories and trying to make updates to the website.
Brigance Brigade Mobile
Following the initial brainstorming and market research we then got to work designing the homepage layout and style guide for the website. This website needed to provide easy to access donate buttons and links to programs for people to get involved. The final design features an edgy yet modern style consistent with NFL branding. Accessibility was a priority for O.J. and Chanda and we’re happy to provide an easy to use website across all devices. Check out the brand new site here: https://brigancebrigade.org/

ReDorm Marketplace Website Design

mobile friendly website design

Online Marketplace for McDaniel College Students

After winning the seventh annual Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge at McDaniel College (located in Westminster, MD), Javon contacted us to bring his idea to life. We created the logo and online e-commerce marketplace that’s currently available exclusively for McDaniel students.
“ReDorm is a recycling app that connects college students with products that they need, such as furniture, room accessories, textbooks, and more.”

E-commerce Website Design

Designing this e-commerce website presented some unique challenges because of the front facing dashboard and ability for users to create accounts as either a seller or buyer. Currently ReDorm only serves the Carroll County area and doesn’t offer any shipping so  we needed to limit registrations to only McDaniel College students. We also needed the ability for users to be able to message with each other to arrange product pickup.

Lauren Daigle Kaleidoscope Tour 2023

After traveling to Guatemala in June with Lauren Daigle and ChildFund, we were tasked with designing custom booths for the arena concourses, merch for the tour reps and the primary video for the ChildFund presentation. ChildFund had been challenged by the tour to create visuals that were fully integrated with the overall feel and experience of the rest of the tour. After reviewing footage and having an initial planning meeting in Nashville with the team, we quickly got to work on concepts that blended ChildFund’s message of child sponsorship with the bright colors from Lauren Daigle’s new self-titled album. We centered the message under a phrase Lauren said to her sponsored child “You are more than your story and what’s happened to you.” This message helped create a theme that can now be seen across all elements of the night.

Tour Rep Merchandise

tour t-shirt design

The tour staff were presented with cobranded shirts, hats and hoodies to wear at all of the events. We reached out to our friends at Six Stitch to handle the printing and they turned out amazing! The large overprint t-shirts are some of our favorite designs ever.

Event Booth Design

One of the unique challenges of designing booths for a tour is that everything needs to be portable and durable to withstand 6+ months of travel. We designed a 3 banner display with a custom TV road case so the width of the booth could vary depending on how much space was available on the concourse. We also created a video loop with footage from Guatemala to be displayed at each location.

Appeal Video

Each night Jeremy shares from stage about ChildFund and his trip to Guatemala with Lauren. We edited a 10 minute video that fills a floor to ceiling screen behind the stage. The content is revealed through paint brush strokes and water color droplets. The final video includes content spanning 4 countries and 16 years of footage.

We hope you can come see all of this in person. Tour dates are available at www.laurendaigle.com

Greystone Brokerage & Development Tennessee Website Design

New website design for Greystone Brokerage & Development

When Greystone first approached us about a new website their current website was displaying a critical error and they weren’t able to make updates or recover any of their past content. Thankfully we were able to help them restore aspects of their past website for reference while building a brand new website with an accompanying website maintenance plan to help prevent this same error from occurring in the future.

“Greystone Brokerage & Development is a full-service real estate firm specializing in Development, Consulting and Brokerage services for medical office buildings, surgery centers, imaging and diagnostic clinics, and healthcare-related facilities.” (https://greystonebd.com/about/)

Community Foundation of Carroll County Website – Case Study

New website for the Community Foundation of Carroll County

Nonprofit websites are one of our specialities, but this project was especially unique because we had the opportunity to not only represent 1 nonprofit but to serve over 280 local nonprofits all in one website! GLBAL media was contacted last year by the Community Foundation of Carroll County to start the process of redesigning their existing website. We applaud them for getting quotes from all local web design companies and were honored to be selected. If you are not familiar with a community foundation they are an umbrella organization that handles all of the donations, payments, grants, etc. to allow “funds” to focus on the work they are passionate about.

The Community Foundation of Carroll County was established in 1994 and currently serves over 280 local nonprofits and more than 75 scholarships. They facilitate over 8 million dollars in endowments, operating funds, scholarships, programs, and funds managed for nonprofit organizations.

Wearecarroll.org before and after website design

The Challenge

We were presented with an existing website that was outdated and difficult to update. Minor changes like posting news, editing scholarships and replacing images had to be outsourced to another web designer who could only make all of the changes via FTP. The previous website was not utilizing SSL certificates, was not a responsive website design (desktop, tablet and mobile friendly) and was not easily searchable.

Nonprofit website design

The Solution

When we first met with Sharon from the Community Foundation of Carroll County she expressed how important it was for visitors to accomplish 3 main tasks: start a fund, make a donation and search for scholarships. We walked through our website design process and explained the need for the website to be mobile friendly and easy to navigate.

Given our expertise with nonprofit website design we also shared the need for the website to establish credibility with potential donors and streamline the process to make a donation. Given the unique setup of a community foundation many visitors will access the site to make a donation to a specific fund. In the past this was only possible by sorting through an alphabetical list with no option to filter the results. We created a searchable database for all 280 funds that lists the name, description, type of fund and link to donate directly to that fund. This new website will hopefully increase donations for all of the nonprofits represented.

The foundation ultimately allows nonprofits to focus on their mission while they handle all of the behind the scenes tasks. It was important for the new website to further highlight events in the community put on by the participating funds. We designed an easy to use news and calendar section to showcase upcoming events and press releases.

Big thanks to you and your team for creating an exceptional product!

Canon C70 Review

Canon C70 review

In January of 2023 we made the transition from filming with DSLR’s to cinema cameras. Having started in photography we were long time Nikon users but started to feel the limitations within the Nikon family. After weeks of research, consulting industry professionals and renting gear, we ultimately purchased the Canon C70 cinema camera.

Several factors lead to this decision.

  1. We primarily film videos for international nonprofits and require a small footprint suitable for run and gun type videography.
  2. With a focus on producing more documentaries we wanted a Netflix approved camera.
  3. Most of our shoots are outside without controlled lighting so built in ND filters was a must.

After shooting with this camera exclusively for 10 days in Kenya we’ve complied a list of pros and cons for the Canon C70.

Pros:

  • 4k footage looks amazing
  • ND filters ***must must must
  • Multiple audio inputs (up to 6 channels of audio)
    • Easy access on back of body for gain options / input selection
  • Focus peaking (if you haven’t used this before you’ll be glad you have it)
  • Full size HDMI output – for studio settings this is a great feature to easily connect external monitors.
  • Different options for output monitoring. You are not confined to your onscreen settings for your external monitors. You can toggle luts, overlays, etc.
  • More assignable buttons than you’ll likely need
  • Auto focus / continuous auto focus responds quickly
  • Native Shutter Angle 180*
  • LUT toggle lets you easily view footage with a LUT preview.
    • Handled the heat of the African sun like a pro. No overheating or noisy fans
  • Footage pairs nicely with C200’s.

Cons:

  • Folding screen – I know many other cameras offer a folding screen but this feels like the greatest shortcoming on the overall design. The hinge feels flimsy and is easy to get bumped. Overall I wish the screen was bigger especially when shooting outside without external displays.
  • I recommend the BP-A60 batteries over the standard A30’s. The A60’s allow me to film all day in the field (8+ hours) without worrying about switching batteries.
  • Digital audio monitor is a little clunky. Navigating the audio settings menu is a challenge until you get a hang of the layout for channel monitoring, input selection etc.
  • Deleting footage from memory card can only be done by selecting each clip, no option to delete by date or time.
  • Upgraded the handle / mic holder to a small rig metal casing.
  • No user settings – Coming from the DSLR world where you typically have at least 2 customizable user settings I wish you could easily toggle between your 30fps and 60fps settings.
  • Most cinema cameras are now offering at least 6 – 8K so hope to see a similar model in this range soon.
  • RF mount – since we didn’t already have a collection of Canon lenses this didn’t impact us specifically but for many Canon users you’d have to use the adapter to use your existing lens collection.

Canon C70 Summary:

If you’re looking for a rugged 4K cinema camera that can handle the day to day demands of an international video production company then look no further.

*June 13, 2023 update: We’ve now used this camera for 3 international trips and can’t say enough how happy we are with this purchase. This is the exact setup we’ve needed in every situation. Even on our most recent trip filming alongside other videographers with RED’s we were confident in the visuals we could produce.

The GLBAL good
Each year as a company (GLBAL media) we designate a percentage of our profits to fund various projects/causes that we believe align with our vision to bring the world together. Established in 2020, our first GLBAL good recipient was a clean water well with ChildFund followed by a donation to Soni Sunshine in 2021 to provide resources for cancer patients. This year we’re excited to share that LightsOut has been chosen as our 2022 recipient.

This year’s recipient is LightsOut, a nonprofit that provides emotional, physical and spiritual support for musicians, speakers, crew and other touring professionals.

About LightsOut
LightsOut provides emotional, physical and spiritual support for musicians, speakers, crew and other touring professionals. They focus on caring for these people off the stage so that they can be their best on stage. Having toured for over 15 years we know the struggles of life on the road, the challenge of being away from family and the toll having to be in the spotlight can take. LightsOut exists to help make all of that a little more manageable.

Dave Decker & Justin Willet

How we met LightsOut
Long before it was even an established nonprofit, Dave has been caring for people in the entertainment industry. About 15 years ago when Justin was touring in a 15 passenger band with his brothers in Willet they drove 23 hours from Maryland to Sioux Falls, SD to play at a festival. After their set they were planning to sleep in their van before making the drive back home. Dave was stage managing at the festival and caught wind of this situation. He immediately offered his personal RV for the band to sleep in so that they wouldn’t have to stay in their van. That night started a friendship that would later evolve to include multiple tours together, discussions about mental/spiritual/emotional health, the needs of artists and the struggles of being on the road.
Dave is one of those people that you can call at anytime. He’s literally dropped everything to drive states away to help. I can’t count how many cups of coffee we’ve enjoyed together over the years and am excited to see his ministry continue to grow. BC Boost Branding, Logo, Product and Website Design

B+C Boost Website Design
BC Boost is a brand new product created by Dr. Janette Nesheiwat. This dietary supplement was specially formulated to boost immune support by combining Vitamin B and Vitamin C as well as D3 and Zinc.
B+C Boost Website Design

Our roles in the BC Boost branding, logo, product and website project.

We started by creating the logo and brand guidelines for this new company. For the logo, we incorporated key colors that evoke healthy living emotions. After designing the logo we created the vitamin bottle design while following FDA standards. We provided our client with initial mockups to see how this would actually look before going to print. We incorporated elements of oranges (strong component of Vitamin C), Dr. Janette’s photo (for credibility) as well as helpful information about the purpose of this product.

After completing the bottle design we started on developing the new e-commerce website. This website needed to provide credibility to the brand as well as offer subscriptions and easy checkout from desktop and mobile devices.

Justice For All Institute Logo and Website Design

Justice For All Institute Website Design
The Justice For All Institute is a new nonprofit started by Dina Nesheiwat Raley. Dina’s extensive experience as an attorney and her compassion for helping others inspired her to create an organization to advocate for the legal rights of families and communities that would otherwise go unheard. These legal services are provided FREE of charge for communities in need.
Justice For All Institute Website Design

Our roles in the Justice For All Institute logo and website project.

We created the overall branding for the organization. For the logo, we carried over the “Scales of Justice” icon that can be found in The Nesheiwat Law Group logo as a subtle nod to Dina’s other company and the need for justice.
We were also tasked with creating a website that would help explain the purpose of The Justice For All Institute and allow potential donors to donate towards the cause. This website features one-time and recurring giving as well as sign-up forms for other attorneys to get involved.

Be Kind Sign Website Design

Be Kind Sign

A couple of months ago we met Eric and Tina while filming for Hey, Westminster and quickly fell in love with their mission to spread kindness. They asked us to assist in designing a new Ecommerce website for both the Infinite Love Project and Be Kind Sign.

Hey Westminster grant recipient Infinite Love Project Be Kind Signs GLBAL media

About Infinite Love Project / Be Kind Sign

The Infinite Love Project creates hearts with the infinity symbol which are then given to people they encounter as they go through their daily lives. They also create and install the Be Kind signs with our Infinite Love Heart® to remind us all of the importance of that magical phrase.

Be Kind Sign has quickly become an iconic symbol in Carroll County, Maryland and is rapidly spreading to new areas.

“In January, 2020 Eric was reading about, hearing, and experiencing too much negativity and needed to counter that, reminding himself as well that everything is better when you are around kind and empathetic people. That is when, on a porch in Westminster, MD, the stencil art Be Kind sign boards and crayons were created.”
Currently over 3,400 signs are on display to remind us all to spread kindness. We’re grateful that Eric and Tina trusted us to build a new e-commerce website for them with some enhanced functionality. They get the award for the most colorful website we’ve ever created. ? Take a look at www.bekindsign.com

Building the New Ecommerce Website

This website was a unique build because potential visitors enter the site either through an affiliation with Infinite Love Project or through exposure to the Be Kind Signs. While essentially one big site the website needed to serve the needs of both brands. We started by building custom landing pages for infiniteloveproject.com and bekindsign.com. The header navigation then integrates the rest of the website.

It was also important to Eric and Tina that their upcoming events could be easily added, updated and shared. As a result we built an easy to navigate event calendar that they can update anytime.

The online store features several different categories and integrates seamlessly with their Point of Sale system to manage stock and inventory. The custom nature of these products required extensive variables and customization for each order.

Infinite Love Project website Design

Mobile Friendly Website Design

Be Kind Sign often has a booth setup at trade shows, farmers markets, festivals and events so it was important that the website was mobile friendly and potential visitors could easily browse the site and shop or learn more about the brand.

How Much Does Video Production Cost?

Video Production Cost
One of the most frequent questions we’re asked is “How Much Does Video Production Cost?” Estimating the cost of your video is a great first step in choosing whether you can afford to advertise through video or not. We recommend contacting 2-3 local video production companies to request a quote and discuss the needs for your video. Make sure you review their portfolio and confirm that their style is a good fit for your company.

The average cost of a video varies based on the questions below however, most videos cost between $2,500 – $7,500+.

Knowing the answers to the following questions will help expedite the quote process and allow you to get a more accurate price when inquiring with video production companies.

What kind of video do you need?

Identifying the type of video you need will help video production companies be able to provide an accurate quote ahead of time. Popular videos include:

  • Event coverage video
  • Corporate videos
  • Documentary Films
  • Music Videos
  • Live Streaming
  • Explainer Videos
  • How To videos
  • Fundraising videos
  • Aerial Drone Videos
  • Company Profile Video
  • Promotional Videos / Commercials
  • Social Media Videos
  • Testimonial Video
  • Recruitment Video
  • Internal Communication Video
Will your video require filming?
Depending on the type of video you need you may require on location filming or use of stock video content. Filming days will require additional planning and staff devoted to making the production a success. Filming may be done in studio or on location and can also include the use of aerial drone coverage. Typically film days are priced by half day or whole day shoots.

What is the total length of your video?
Knowing how long you anticipate the final edit being will affect the cost for post production (color correction, background music, audio eq, titles, lower thirds, etc.)

So how much does video production cost?
As you can tell from the questions above, you’ll need to provide some detailed information in order to receive a customized proposal for your project. Here at GLBAL media we offer a 6 step video production process that includes:
  1. Discovery – We meet with your team to learn more about your company and the purpose of the video.
  2. Market Research – We research current trends as well as your competitors to make sure your video will meet industry standards.
  3. Storyboard – Our team develops the storyboard for your video and starts planning the shoot.
  4. Filming – Our videographers will meet with you on location to film your project.
  5. Editing – Our video editors are extremely skilled and will work to develop the storyline, add text, animations, background music, voice overs and color correction.
  6. Delivery – You receive the final video in digital form to upload and share as needed.

We had the opportunity to film and produce Faith Church Glen Burnie‘s Christmas service. This service was produced ahead of time and premiered on Christmas Eve on their YouTube channel.

Check out the full-length video:

The entire production was filmed in a barn outside of Westminster, Maryland right before Thanksgiving and included 6 hours of filming and over 20 different camera angles per song. Our creative team is comprised of several musicians so we were thrilled at the opportunity to produce this video for a local church. With just under a month to turn around the final product we got started right away editing the songs and speaking sections. We hope you enjoy the final product.

2022 Video Trends

Maryland video production company

Video content is a continually increasing demand for the online and social media space. This is because:

“Viewers retain 95% of a message presented to them in the video as compared to 10% when reading text.” – Impact Plus

As this knowledge is becoming more widespread we are beginning to see the trickle-down effect take place. More and more nonprofits and companies are beginning to consistently implement video on their websites and in social media content. Ultimately, video content serves your visitors better because you’re making your content easily accessible and memorable.

Check out the 2022 video trends to watch for and incorporate into your nonprofit or company’s content.

4k and even 8k video have become the new standard in video production.

Even though most viewers aren’t watching on devices capable of these resolutions people have been taught to ask for it when requesting video shoots.

As the use of video increases across all platforms creative lighting will play a bigger role in helping your videos stand out. RBG lighting will allow users to create unique-looking interviews and have full control over the scene they are shooting.

Interactive / VR video hasn’t fully caught on but as the technology continues to improve and become more widespread we can expect to see more and more VR videos.

Drone videography has become standard in most video productions however the quality of these shots and most importantly using them creatively will help set your production apart.

Live streaming is here to stay however with its increased popularity the cost for these services will start to decrease as it becomes easier for clients to produce the content on their own.

Stories will always drive good videos. Even as short-form videos become the norm across social media the content of the video is crucial to its success.

Moving into 2022 and beyond videos will need to be delivered in multiple formats for use in vertical stories, square formats, and standard 16×9.

Soni Sunshine Video – December 2021 Hey Westminster Grant Recipient

This month’s Hey Westminster blog is very different from the others because we share it with both joy and sadness. We filmed and photographed the Soni Sunshine Snow 5-0 event in Westminster, MD as part of the December 2021 Hey Westminster grant. This event was for Sonia Davis’ 50th birthday and brought out nearly 1,000 people to show their love for her and her family. She battled cancer for several years and recently passed after her birthday and community celebration.

During her time battling cancer, Sonia shared her experiences and resources for others battling cancer through Soni Sunshine. She and her husband Casey also began a nonprofit to financially assist those battling cancer called “Help On The Way!”

The Hey Westminster board decided to give this month’s grant to Soni Sunshine. Sonia and Casey immediately let the board know that they would be giving those funds to their nonprofit, “Help On The Way!” so that the money can help others. This is just one example of their generosity and heart for helping others.

We have been friends with Casey and Sonia for awhile and have worked on several projects together, so we are deeply feeling the loss for their family and our community. It was an honor to be a part of videoing and photographing this event for them.

Check out the video that we filmed and produced for Hey Westminster for the December 2021 grant recipient Soni Sunshine, per their request the grant will go to Help On The Way.

The Soni Sunshine Snow 5-0 had so many fun features to celebrate Sonia and help others.

They had fundraisers for their nonprofit, food trucks for guests to enjoy, a place to leave notes for Sonia, and characters from all of Sonia’s favorite Christmas movies. They even surprised her with a genuine “Griswold” house-lighting moment and snow machine. The kids absolutely loved the “snow”!

This year saw the return of live events and we were happy to help support them. Traveling on numerous tours, video shoots, and client meetings we flew over 26 times.

29 states visited

Although this was the first year in over 5 years that did not include an international trip we still managed to cover most of the country visiting 29 states for photos, videos, and tour dates.
WinterJam We The Kingdom
It has been a great year! Thank you to each of our clients for trusting us to build your websites, capture and tell your stories, and serve you creatively. We are looking forward to all the projects that we will be working on in 2022. We hope you enjoyed a behind-the-scenes GLBAL media year in review.

Logo design for Affordable Basement Solutions by JFJ and Sons

affordable basement solutions by JFJ & sons logo by GLBAL media

We were happy to work on another project with JFJ and Sons. We have worked with the Felkners for over 5 years. Originally developing the JFJ and Sons website & now this new logo design and brand within their company. This time we created a new brand that is a subdivision within the JFJ and Sons company: Affordable Basement Solutions by JFJ and Sons. Since at times it will operate as a standalone brand it needed its own logo and branding.

We designed the branding, logo design, photography, and video for this new company.

For every branding client we create an accompanying brand guide. A brand guide is a helpful tool for individuals or whole teams to maintain a consistent brand presence. It visually showcases how to use your logos and what your brand fonts and colors are. For larger projects or campaigns we include key directions in wording and copy to use on the website, social media, and when talking about the campaign.

We photographed a recent basement renovation so that they would have photo content for this new brand that they can utilize on their website, social media, and on printed materials.

As a part of this larger project, we also designed this custom proposal folder for JFJ and Sons.

The inside pages feature a letter from the owner, high-quality printed images of their work, testimonials from happy customers, and a list of the services that they provide. The folder pockets allow for them to insert custom proposals and information for their customers.

Website for Hear It Clear

New website hearitclear.com

Hear It Clear is a new entertainment industry company website to rent equipment and book freelancers to operate it.

GLBAL media built the front-facing sales side of the website. We designed and coded the initial home, about and contact pages as well as created the registration platform.

We were introduced through a mutual friend in the entertainment industry and are excited to see this become a valuable tool for the music industry. Hear It Clear is developing a platform to book rental equipment such as venues, lighting, audio, and freelancers to run it. The idea is that it’s a cross-company platform that removes the bids back and forth between a bunch of companies and people can see availability right away.

They are currently building a database for those freelancers and equipment companies who are interested.

The ability to book equipment is coming in phase 2. Right now anyone who works within the entertainment industry can register to receive more info once it’s launched.

7 reasons to update your website in 2022

7 reasons to update your website in 2022

How do you know when it’s time to update your website?

There are a few important factors to take into consideration if you’re trying to decide if your website needs updating. Check out our list of 7 reasons to update your website in 2022.

web style has changed and your website is outdated

Biggest factor – web style has changed and your website feels outdated.

Website design trends are constantly changing. There are many factors that affect these trends. Increasing internet speeds are allowing for videos and animations to be more accessible and in demand. People are consuming more video content than images and text because it is easier and quicker to digest. Colors, styles, and font trends change with what’s popular at the time. The bottom line, the increase in technology and accessibility is constantly driving design trends to change and progress.

your website page speed is slow

Your website page speed is slow.

Surveys and analytics show that you have less than 15 seconds to grab your visitor’s attention on your website. If your page won’t load and you can’t grab their attention in that time you will lose your visitor. As technology changes in web development, outdated systems and coding don’t function as well and so websites can take longer to load. For example, years ago flash websites were the big trend and most modern browsers don’t support flash anymore. Even within popular programs like WordPress, themes and plugins become outdated if they are not consistently kept up to date.

your website doesn't represent your current business

Doesn’t represent your current business well.

Your old website was great for you then, but as your company grows your website should grow with it. Your website may not represent your current business well if you’re in the process of rebranding or adding new services. Especially over the course of 2020 and 2021 businesses have had to adapt and change the services that they offer so their online presence should represent those changes. For example, churches have begun to return in person but it may be different than it was before. You go through a lot of work to get someone to your website, you want to be sure that the content that they find is accurate.

your website doesn't match the quality you offer

Doesn’t match the quality of the service/experience you offer in person.

If the quality of your website does not match the quality of the services and experience you offer in person, it’s time to update your website. There are a lot of organizations, nonprofits, and businesses that are really great at the services that they provide, but their online presence doesn’t represent that well. Often businesses spend a lot of time creating a great in-store experience but don’t pay as much attention to their website. For a prospective donor, volunteer, or client it could turn them away from giving, volunteering, or booking services if your online presence isn’t aligned with your quality of services or experience.

difficult to update or make changes

Is difficult to update/make changes.

If your current website is either inaccessible by you to update and make changes, or that process is becoming a burden it’s time to update. You can’t accomplish the things above if you can’t access your website. We offer monthly website maintenance plans where we can manage this for you.

your website is not mobile-friendly

Your website is not mobile-friendly.

Over 50% of website traffic is done on mobile devices and that statistic is growing daily. Modern websites should be built on a responsive platform to display well across all devices. Google ranks mobile-friendly websites higher in their searches than those that are not mobile-friendly.

update website aesthetics every 2 years full redesign every 5 years

We recommend updating your website aesthetics at least every 2 years and considering a full redesign within 5 years.

About every 2 years functionality and design trends shift pretty dramatically. At least 2 years you should update the homepage, hero sections, and main banner sections. Within 5 years you should consider a full redesign simply due to the advancement of technology and the systems required to keep up with it.

THIS GIRL – WorldServe International

THIS GIRL picture

Today GLBAL media is excited to announce the launch of THIS GIRL, a nonprofit campaign for WorldServe International. WorldServe International is a nonprofit organization working to provide clean water, sanitation, education, and economic opportunities.

About a year ago they reached out to us to develop the brand identity for a new initiative. After reviewing the program that they planned on implementing in some African communities we recognized that the heart of the program was empowerment for young women who don’t have a voice. This direction on focusing on the girls’ dignity led us to name this new initiative THIS GIRL.

From the beginning, WorldServe International and GLBAL media set out to create a brand that would allow everyone to participate in helping girls thrive.

This is not a topic that should be exclusive to women/girls. We thought that this brand should be represented in a way that everyone feels comfortable sharing the content, championing the cause, and being involved in providing dignity, health, and education for girls.

WorldServe has long recognized that women and girls are disproportionately affected by water scarcity.

When water is present, great things can happen, especially in the area of education for girls. When girls are finally able to attend school, WorldServe International wants to do everything possible to keep them going! A challenge with which many girls struggle is the ability to attend school during their menstrual cycle. Inadequate restroom facilities, a lack of hygiene products, and rampant taboos mean that girls in developing countries miss nearly a full week of school every month. As absences add up, girls may fall so far behind that they don’t return.
The lack of water in many school settings limits the effectiveness of washable sanitary products and other solutions (such as tampons and cups). Further, the economic and environmental challenges inherent in traditional “manufactured” products could result in new difficulties. Ultimately an award-winning compostable pad production system created by Aakar Innovations was discovered as the perfect solution. With compassion and grace, the girls learn what menstruation is, its role in the lives of healthy women and girls, and benefit from a dialogue where their great potential and self-worth are affirmed.

THIS GIRL dignity, health, & education

If this story resonates with you and you would like to join THIS GIRL, here’s how you can get involved:

Text the words “this girl” to 844-928-4123 to join for $12/month

$12 a month provides a girl with dignity, health, and education. WorldServe International distributes 100% compostable sanitary pads (made locally by women employed at a fair wage!), along with a comprehensive menstrual health curriculum, and undergarments. Without this basic dignity, a girl can miss up to 4 days of school each month!

Our role in the THIS GIRL brand, campaign, and website.

WorldServe approached GLBAL media in the summer of 2020 about creating a new program for menstrual hygiene. The intent was to create a program that everyone could have a conversation about because it is not just an issue that affects women.

We spent the next month developing the name and brand for it, then developed a marketing strategy. We created the branding, designed the logos and packaging, edited the video, designed the webpage, created the marketing and overall message, and are continuing to develop new marketing materials for THIS GIRL under the WorldServe International organization.

Live streaming

livestream to facebook instagram youtube

GLBAL media is a live streaming production company located in Westminster, Maryland. Starting in 2020, everyone began live streaming, but it is something that we’ve been doing for the past few years. With the influx of more companies, churches, and events looking to live streaming in order to stay connected with people and offer virtual options, live streaming quality is becoming more and more crucial.

We help organizations to live stream to multiple platforms, like Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, at the same time with a cohesive experience across all of them.

We designed and built out a live streaming system for Deep Run Church. We live streamed their first and they’ve been running it themselves ever since. They wanted to be able to stream to YouTube & Facebook simultaneously and we were able to set them up to do that.

We did the initial research to determine the best live streaming platform for their needs. This helped us determine the best live steaming software for them. We evaluated livestreaming software such as streamyard, OBS, and Vmix.

We ordered the equipment, configured hardware and software, and trained their staff to set up and run the equipment and live steam. Some of the equipment in their custom portable live stream kit were a laptop with the correct software, audio interface, cameras, cables, chargers, and tripods. Deep Run Church needed it to be portable because they set up and take down weekly. It all packs up easily into the cases shown in the graphic.

custom portable live stream kit

This is the first live stream by Deep Run Church utilizing our live streaming kit we created for them.

Below is an example of the presentation of a live streamed church service that we produced.

livestreaming to multiple platforms

We also worked with ChildFund and Lauren Daigle for a live stream fundraising event that was broadcasted to multiple platforms simultaneously.

livestreaming to multiple platforms

The video below is the Women in Sports Panel for the US open squash tournament in Philadelphia. We provided photos and videos for the event for several years prior to the live steam shown below. We provided live streaming for this panel because they had a limited number of seats available in person. This live stream made the panel interview accessible to many more viewers.

SDA pro tour is the Squash doubles association. The events are held at private clubs and aren’t open to the public. In order to make squash more accessible to the public they began to live stream the events. We built out all of the equipment for it to suit their needs, similar to the project for Deep Run Church that we shared above.

Nonprofit fundraising videos

GLBAL media is a digital agency for nonprofits. We film and produce fundraising videos and nonprofit videos. Some of our past projects have been for ChildFund and Lauren Daigle, Children International and MercyMe, and a Westminster, Maryland nonprofit Together We Own It.

Often we work closely with nonprofits and artists to develop unique digital campaigns tailored to their brand like the ones below for ChildFund and Lauren Daigle tour and the two for Children International and MercyMe.

We also film and produce videos for nonprofits like the one below for Together We Own It located in Westminster, Maryland. In this blog, we shared the story of how this video led to an individual donating a $10,000 gift to Together We Own It because they saw this video on social media. As a company, we believe in the power of storytelling and how it inspires others to take action.

GLBAL media is a Maryland video production agency that specializes in filming and producing nonprofit videos. Our team of videographers has a combined experience of over 40 years in video production and marketing. As a Story First Creative Agency, we believe every good video should start with a story. 2021 GLBAL good recipient – Soni Sunshine

Squarespace web design for sonisunshine.com

Last year we created the GLBAL good as an annual giveback from our company to fund various projects/causes that we believe align with our vision to bring the world together, and share those success stories with you.

We are excited to announce that this year our team voted unanimously and selected Soni Sunshine as our 2021 GLBAL good recipient!

This year’s recipient is Soni Sunshine, a resource for people facing a cancer diagnosis for themselves or a loved one.

Glbal good logo

Sonia herself is currently battling cancer and despite her many challenges continues to have a passion to serve others first. As a company, we are thankful to be able to support her efforts during this time in a small way. When we first contacted Casey and Sonia to share the news with them, right away she said that she wanted the funds to be used for their “Help is on the way fund” to support other cancer patients.

We have worked with Sonia and her husband Casey for about 7 years on multiple projects. Most recently, we built the Soni Sunshine website for them.

If you or someone you know is in need of cancer treatment resources visit the Soni Sunshine website to see all that they have to offer.

How to choose the best web designer for you

GLBAL media team

If you are feeling overwhelmed with choosing the best web designer, this blog will help you make a confident choice that is best for you. Here are a few things to consider before you reach out to a web designer.

What size of company do you want to work with?

Larger companies have departments that are dedicated to each area. They have sales teams, designers, and developers. At times this can be helpful however when it comes to web design we’ve found that having a dedicated contact person makes the process much smoother. Our company has a small team of web designers dedicated to delivering you with the best possible results. You will have a consistent contact person. There’s no middle man in communication during the whole process. You’ll be speaking to someone who understands the website design and development language and can help if there are any areas you have questions. It allows us to customize your process to the needs that you have.

How many pages are you looking for?

In order to receive an accurate quote, you will need to know how many pages your website will have. These typically include Home, About Us, Services, Contact, etc.

How often do you plan to update your website?

Do you want to be able to update your website yourself or is that a service you’d like to be included with the website company that you choose to work with? Some people are very tech-savvy and like the idea of updating themselves. However, the majority of our clients prefer to be able to send us any updates that they require so that they can focus on the amazing work they’re doing.

Soni Sunshine GLBAL media testimonial

https://www.sonisunshine.com/

What design style do you like?

Who you consider to be the best web designer might be different than someone else because of the aesthetic you like. It can be helpful to browse some websites for inspiration. Make note of what elements or features stand out to you and why. We suggest browsing within your industry and a little outside of your industry for inspiration.

What is your goal turnaround time?

Every company has its own unique turnaround schedule depending on its capacity and its process. You’ll want to find a company that can meet your goal turnaround time. At GLBAL media we typically have a 30-day turnaround time from start to finish.

What industries do they work in?

The majority of the time it is smart to work with a company that has experience designing and building websites for the industry that you are in. Staying within the same industry is helpful to be aware of industry-specific needs and trends, as well as what works and doesn’t work when it comes to websites for your industry.

Browsing websites GLBAL media

What is your budget?

This is very important as there are companies that range the spectrum for investment.

What platform will your site be built on?

WordPress, Squarespace, and Wix are popular site platforms that we utilize to build our clients’ websites. If you’d like you can do some research into each of these options to decide what is best for you. If you’re unsure or have no preference, feel free to reach out to us, we’d be happy to help guide you in the best choice for you.

Do you have a preference for outsourced or in-house coding?

Outsourcing coding is a common practice among website companies. Whenever possible we prefer to keep the entire process in-house to ensure consistency and the highest possible quality.

Website testimonial Karli VonHerbulis

https://thirdculturethriving.com/

Do you need a blog or e-commerce site?

If you know you need one or both of these things be sure to work with a company that is familiar with building out these components.

Do you have your domain name or need hosting?

Check with the company you’re inquiring with whether they provide these services for their clients or if you’re required to already have that in place prior to working with them. If you do not already have a domain name or host service we can do those things for you as a part of our 10 step website design process (link to page).

Does the company’s geographical location matter to you?

Are you desiring to work with a company fully virtual or are you desiring some in-person interaction? Take this aspect of your desired experience into consideration when deciding on a company to work with. While we work with clients from all over the world our offices are located in Westminster, MD and we’d love to host you for a discovery meeting.

maryland graphic

Do you need a website designer, website developer, or all-in-one?

A website developer specializes in how a website functions and the user experience (UX). They’re focused on functionality, custom forms, custom online store elements, and user interaction. A web developer is really great at making a site work well, but may not make a site that looks great.

A website designer specializes in the user interface (UI). They’re focused on how a website looks, feels, and the aesthetic. A web designer is really great at making beautiful websites, but may not make a site that functions great for the UX.

Ideally, you want a company that can do both for you. Your site should both look and function great for your users.

UX UI graphic GLBAL media

What happens after your website is built?

Some companies hand over a website and don’t provide any ongoing services unless you come back and contract with them again for changes or updates. At GLBAL media we provide ongoing maintenance for all of our websites which includes: SSL certificates, hosting, security updates, weekly backups, text/image/video updates, as well as phone and email support.

Next step: inquire.

Once you have these decisions made, your next step is to contact a company that best fits your desired experience. It would be wise to inquire with more than one company so that you can compare their offerings and investment levels.

The Well nonprofit brand design

The Well nonprofit brand for WorldServe by GLBAL media

GLBAL media is excited to share a new nonprofit initiative that was launched at  Light The Way Music Festival. We created this fundraising initiative called The Well for WorldServe International. We had multiple roles for creating and executing the launch of The Well.

We consulted on the arrangement and presentation approach at the festival. We developed the concept of the monthly giving program “The Well”. We designed The Well logo and branding. We designed the welcome email that went to all Light The Way Festival attendees. We designed banners for the activation tent at the festival. We designed 4×6 postcards for the festival attendees. We also provided photography and video for the festival recap. You can see our concert photography and video recap on this blog: Light The Way Music Festival.
