Each year GLBAL media designates a percentage of our profit to fund various projects/causes that we believe align with our vision to bring the world together, and share those success stories with you – we call it the “GLBAL good.” This year we decided to invest in our local community of Carroll County, Maryland and spread out our donations to 8 different organizations throughout the year. Through a combination of monetary gifts and gifts-in-kind we were able to partner with organizations that we believe are doing good in our community.
After moving into our new offices in January we knew we wanted to be more involved in our downtown community and the surrounding areas. We were honored to partner with Habitat For Humanity to participate in build days for the new house in Taneytown and also provide a video about the new home owners. In April we were able to sponsor the Carroll Citizens for Racial Equity Conference and also provide photos from the event.
As summer approached we funded summer scholarships for students at the Boys and Girls Club, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend summer programming. Later in the summer we worked with Maryland SummerFest again to provide photos and videos for the annual festival they put on at the Farm Museum.
As we entered Fall we joined with the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate their 100th anniversary and provide a video highlighting the future and launch of their new nonprofit. In September we also helped the Community Foundation of Carroll County by sponsoring their Philanthropists of the Year event which benefits local nonprofits.
As we entered the holidays we donated our storefront for the Bring Joy to the World campaign which allows members of the community to make a difference in the life of a child through our partners at Children International. Throughout the year we also continued our support for Hey Westminster by providing monthly videos for their grant recipients.
